Losing My Motivation

I was doing so well the first 4 days of my diet and the last three just sucked. I didn't eat well, exercise or for that matter give a crap. What's worse, is I was very aware of it. It all started when my husband returned from his business trip in Austin. I was so worried about him that I simply forgot about myself. That is ridiculous too as he will eat whatever I make. I believe I just made some poor choices.

On a positive note I lost 2 lbs. but really what is 2 lbs? Water.

Back on track this week with a goal of moving daily for at least 1 hour as well Yoga in the morning and two liters of water,

Considering going to either Weight Watchers or going on Duvita. I am going to a Duvita meeting this evening with an open mind.

Finally since it looks like I tend to lose my motivation after 4 days, I am going to blog every third day to keep me accountable.

Will let y'all know my progress in the next few days

  1. I think sometimes it's an issue of trying to go "Cold Turkey" and expecting to be able to do it all from the start, and all we really wind up doing is setting ourselves up for failure, because there is no way possible to be successful at perfection for a sustaibed period of time(Last night and today have been horrendous for me, but more about that in a later post). I think it helps to refocus and reflect hard on what our motivation is and why we think it's necessary to continue, and maybe give ourselves leeway when it comes to screwing up. Shelley, you can do this!!!!!!

  2. Ah Dani, I love you!!! I actually joined weight watchers on Wednesday to also help with my motivation. I am back to being focused and even with the parties I am going between yesterday and today, I am planning my intake before I go.
Yesterday was an all you can eat buffet. I was very proud of myself. Since I already knew what was on the buffet at Golden Corral, I simply chose my food before wandering around the steam tables and ate my raw veggies and mixed greens first Tonight we are headed to the lake for dinner and drinks and I have doubled my work out to include 30 minutes of freestyle swimming, 30 minutes on the treadmill and 20 minutes of free weights) I now won't feel guilty for my 2 pt beers

  3. Great strategy to eat the healthy (and bulky) stuff first as well as exercising a little... err a lot more! Remember, your metabolism is kicking into high gear and burns more calories than usual in your body for several hours after your workout is done. Because of this, you WILL feel hungrier so allow yourself a little wiggle room for the good food and do not chalk your appetite up to lousy willpower. You are not screwing up! It's just your body responding to increased fuel demand. And ENJOY the taste of your food, eat slower while your brain catches up with how full your stomach actually is.
